Walkabout in Portland
One of my favorite things to do is go walkabout with a camera. This past weekend my wife and I took a much needed (short) holiday in Portland, Oregon. We set no agenda, scheduled no events, and simply made up the itinerary as we went, one destination at at time. I left my heavy D800 & lenses at home, and only carried my small Nikon V1 and its compact lenses. (For me, deciding which camera & gear to take is often the hardest decision of any trip).
A highlight of the trip was the Lan Su Chinese Garden. Something beautiful around every turn, every angle. The Tea House there was a welcome resting place, with an impressive (and overwhelming) selection of teas, as well as freshly prepared light meals.
