New Year’s Day: White Roses
I’ve heard that what you do on New Year’s Day affects what you get to do the rest of the year, sets the tone sorta thing…. I don’t know about that, but New Year’s Day usually allows me to spend time doing something I love: if it also helps to set the stage for the rest of the year, I’m okay with that.
Today I spent about an hour with my macro lens, hand-held, in soft north window light — especially soft in the Pacific Northwest winter season — and some faltering white roses from a pre-holiday arrangement. A very peaceful, meditative way to start the year….
